Emergency crews are sending an urgent warning that a chemical leak coming from a large storage tank at a Garden Grove aerospace facility could cause a spill or explosion.

Orange County officials have desperately searched for solutions to quell an increasingly concerning toxic gas crisis, but have come up empty-handed as temperatures continue to rise in the tank containing them.

Emergency crews are racing against time in Garden Grove, California, as a massive storage tank at a GKN Aerospace facility threatens to either explode or release thousands of gallons of highly toxic and flammable chemicals into the surrounding area.

We are bringing people in from all over the country … trying to come up with additional options,’ a fire official said.

Evacuation orders were issued to 40,000 Orange County residents. A fire official said a major spill or an explosion were the only expected outcomes.
